Adorable People of Noah’s Ark Group

A few days later, it will be the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Noah’s Ark Group, when a grand celebration will be held. With time passing away, Kunming CIBA Mining Machinery Manufacture has developed into Kunming CIBA Mining Machinery Co. Ltd and I have grown from a new staff to a regular one. Recalling the past, numerous wonderful memories create vivid images in my mind just like what happened yesterday……
It was March, 1987 when I became one member of Kunming CIBA Mining Machinery Manufacture, where I got acquainted with many senior colleagues, through whom I learnt how our factory was established and groped to develop, and I was convinced that our chairman Mr. Zhang Weiping was a respectable leader, who was bold, persistent and dauntless through tasting bitter and annealing in life, and under whose lead our factory transformed from original construction machinery to machinery processing now. In order to meet the requirements of production and adapt to the post, all staff studied professional knowledge and skills as well as worked under his lead; in day time, they worked cautiously and conscientiously; and in the evening, they surrendered their time of entertainments to learn machinery knowledge on machining, mechanical drafting, draw reading, limits and fits etc. It was just relaying on the spirit of being positive and bearing hardship that they accumulated a wealth of work experience in respective post, thus improved their work, laying a sound foundation for the product quality. From then on, I knew some machinery knowledge gradually, and during the time when we worked and studied together, I learnt lots of other practical knowledge. They did not received high education in school, but they were optimistic, positive and not afraid of any hardship. I, together with other new staff, was moved by their working style of grinning and bearing any hard work, which, many years later, created a number of production experts and business elites: representatives like Ye Shuhua, Li Yuncai, Chen Shunming, Su Baoyong etc, and cultivated middle and senior management personals like Yang Longxing, Zhang Enlin, Chu Xingdong etc, ensuring to conduct production and management operation orderly. From then on, they were the respectable and admirable people to me and would be so for the future.
Our chairman always concerned much about the staff and appreciated the staff’s hard work to accomplish productive task. Once he knows someone works overtime in plant, he will arrange the supper for these staff, and when accomplishing a large productive task, he will organize all staff to have an entertainment or go traveling to tourist resorts in Beijing, Tailand, Hainan etc, as well as some tourist destinations in and around the province, which is out of imagination of staffs in some small enterprises. Chairman Zhang is also a humorous person. I still remember one International Wonmen’s Day: he accompanied our women staff to spend the festival; he organized a spectacular forum, on which time he conducted the men staff to buy delicious food for us women and the whole course of buying, cleaning, processing and placing the food on the table was done by them; then he asked them to play theatrical performance for us; the whole forum was immersed in sound of laughter, which fully reflected the respect and care to women staff in the company. There are numerous examples like that……
Our deputy chairperson Cui Jianhong also cares about our women staff a lot. In years of working contacts with her, I have never heard her reprimanding over someone in loud voice, either soothing or to criticize anyone, always soft-spoken, affable. When some staff fall ill or get a work-related injury, she, on behalf of the company, will always be the first visitor to deliver the care and greeting. She treats our women staff as family members. When going on business trip, she often buys delicious foods back to share with us. And before the Spring Festival, she will scheme and arrange activities, as well as purchase festival gifts for all staff. As the deputy chairperson, she is busy enough, but she still undertakes the family planning work in the company, being concerned with women staff for handling certificate to have a child and only child card. In addition, she teaches women staff to maintain their own health. We all benefit a lot from her. There are many people like her who takes more than one job in Noah’s Ark Group. It is these people who bring out generations of Noah’s Ark people……
For the past 20 years, I have witnessed the change of the company and experienced the concern from the company. Seeing the tremendous development of the company, we are proud to be Noah’s Ark People. In such working atmosphere, we not only learn how to work, how to behave, but also learn to work with patience and care for our colleagues. We will do job well in ordinary posts with gratitude to return the company!
